EGG VESSEL
AURORA & JUHANNUS
The Egg Vessel “Aurora & Juhannus” are two opposites in one piece aesthetically and metaphorically.
It was created during a residency in Arctic Circle's most northern Ceramic Centre in Finland. The environment of the North and its spectacular raw nature inspired the final look of the piece seen in reverse as day and night. In the Finnish language “Aurora” means Northern lights and “Juhannus” means Midsummer.
The origin of the Egg Vessels Collection goes back to 2017 when the first pieces were created during my stay at the Meissen factory. I have continued working with the Egg Vessel shape and developing new collections.
The Vessel is in the permanent collection at MIC Museo Internazionale Ceramiche in Faenza, Italy, and exhibited in the Contemporary Ceramic Design Section.
The piece was created in 2022.
